Scripture a Day : 4

I guess I may not sneak these scripture posts in every day… as I seemed to miss day 3.  Anyhoo… this scripture I saw on the Thomas Kinkade painting in my piano room with this painting.

LIGHT is always good… especially at 4 o’clock when all is crazy in the house. Hang on Heather!

The Adventures of Truman and Max

1. Piano Tunes from Tru
2. Emptying pots from the dishwasher (actually helpful!)
3. Unloading silverware (actually helpful!)
4. Max pushing Tru around the kitchen. Both loving it! Not safe, really!
5. Max trying to push Tru out of the picture.  I love Tru’s wee toothy grin.
6. Max feeding Buzz fishies.
7. A tower of Legos built with dad. So Tall!
8. Hannah reading to Max in a holiday-break quiet time. {Max misses the kids when they are in school}
9. Abe attempting to put Max’s boots on Tru. Very funny to watch!

Unphotographable Moments from today:
~ 6 poopy diapers in one day. {Yes, this would be today. We have one smelly house.}
~ 3 baths
~ A Feast of pancakes for Tru for breakfast {seriously – this kid ate like 3}
~ Kisses on the lips from Max
~ 5,000 wipes of Tru’s boogie nose. wah-wah.
~ Max hurting Tru and immediately saying sorry with a love and smooch {without any prompting from mom}
~ Max feasting on loads of dinner crepes. We couldn’t keep up.
Oh – and so much more…

Overall, a good day.   It’s somewhat nice to be back to a normal schedule, though I do miss my Hannah and Abe helpers.  And now, pardon me, but I’m exhausted from following these tots around all day and I’m going to bed!

2011: THREE little words… ONE big idea

I’ve been thinking for a few months now about my ONE LITTLE WORD for 2011. I kept coming back to all things I need to CHANGE in our home and our lifestyle to not just survive my life as mother but to ENDURE WELL … HAPPILY. So yes, I’m breaking all the One Little Word rules… and changed it to be One BIG idea… three LITTLE words.

Create = the action
Positive = all good, uplifting, onward, inspired of God
Change = to improve or make better

For a long time now, I’ve felt like we need to evaluate our life… see what’s workin’, what’s not, what stresses, what relieves, what drains, what builds, what keeps us going (and do more of that!). I think it’s about a change of lifestyle and choices – to create the life we want to have. So – looking forward to that in 2011. It’s going to build some character because CHANGE is not always easy for this girl, especially if it involves more than just thinking about inspiring things… action girl! Action!

“In order to keep getting more of what you already have, keep doing what you are doing.
If you want something different, you must DO something different.”

Scripture a Day : 2

Usually with this scripture, I focus on the “I Will Go & Do.” But in my need for HOPE in my mission as mother and parent, when I read this, I thought of the commandment to “multiply, and replenish the earth” {Moses 2:28) and to “Train up a child in the way he should go” {Proverbs 22:6}. The Lord will prepare a way for us to make this happen. Love that HOPE!

Scripture a Day : 1

I had this idea for the post-holiday-blahs… to share a scripture-a-day in January… Mostly, it’s because I need some encouragement to be more diligent in my scripture study. And a scripture a day definitely won’t hurt … INSPIRATION is always good.
